The Calgary Winter Club in Alberta is a member owned family sporting and recreation and social Club with 7,000 members. The 190,000 square feet of facilities includes: 7 international squash courts, a 6 lane swimming pool, a leisure pool complete with lazy river and a large whirlpool, childcare facilities, Fitness & Lifestyle Centre, 4 indoor tennis courts, 5 international badminton courts, 10 sheets of curling ice, 10 lanes of 5 pin bowling, indoor skating rink, teen room, 55 plus room, sports shop, cafeteria, restaurant and bar, meeting and banquet rooms. The Club completed a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation in 2003 including the new leisure pool, new childcare, new administration area, fully renovated and expanded locker rooms, new family locker room, and an expanded Fitness & Lifestyle Centre.

What are some entry level career opportunities that your organization offers?
Some entry level positions we offer are Banquet Servers, Food Runners/Bussers, Cafeteria Cashier, Sports Shop Associate, Member Services Representative, Ice Crew, and Housekeeping.
What is your hiring process?
Qualified applicants are contacted for an interview. All applicants we wish to hire must pass a security check, and for some positions, a credit check.

What do you look for in employees?
We look for people who have a fun, outgoing attitude, and love to work with and be around people. We are a very customer-service oriented organization. We hire for attitude, and train for skill.
What type of education/training/equipment do I need?
We provide uniforms if the position requires them. Usually a willing, dedicated attitude are the core requirements of our entry level positions.
How old do I have to be to work for your company?
Many of our positions require you to be 16 years of age, though to work in Member Services you do need to be 18.
How much will I get paid?
Our pay varies by position; some positions receive an hourly wage only, while others receive an hourly wage and gratuities.
