Sunterra Meats - Trochu is a family owned business located in the rural town of Trochu, Alberta. Currently employing 115 employees in our pork processing plant, we pride ourselves on being able to guarantee a high quality cut of pork that has been raised using Sunterra's own genetic lines. Sunterra takes pride in combining the highest quality pork with the highest quality customer service. Through our integrity, commitment and continuous improvement, we will strive for perfect quality and service.

Does your organization have other locations besides Calgary?

Yes, meat markets are in Calgary and Edmonton; barns and feedlots are located in Drumheller and Acme; Trochu is home to pork production; and Innisfail has lamb production.

Do you hire full time and part time employees?

Yes we offer both full and part time positions.

How much will I get paid?

New employees start at $10.00/ hour but after 3 months of working for us you will earn $10.50/ hour. There are opportunities for advancement and the top wage plus bonus you can earn is $17.50/ hour.

• Wages - Starting wage is $10.00 per hour, $10.50 per hour after 3 full months. The top wage is $15.20/ hour plus bonus program with earning potential of an additional $2.30/ hour ($17.50 total).

All departments have training programs that encourage employee's skill development and provide increased earning opportunities.

• Assist with Relocation - If you'll be moving to Trochu Sunterra Meats can help you find living accommodations, identify local health care providers, financial institutions and travel arrangements.
• Low living expenses - The cost of living is low in the rural town of Trochu Alberta, and is only a short 45 minute drive South East of Red Deer.
• Mentoring program - In your first week of work, you will be introduced to a peer in your department who can help you become familiar with your new surroundings. The mentor will also introduce you to other co-workers, safety representatives and managers to help ease the transition.
• Frequent evaluations - As an employee, you are placed on an evaluation schedule to ensure that you receive the feedback you need to advance through our system and develop to the best of your ability.
