What are some of the entry level career opportunities that your organization offers?

COURTESY CLERK:
Customer Service, grocery carry outs, price checks, bagging groceries, sweeping floors, retrieving shopping carts, etc. No previous experience is necessary and training is provided.

CASHIER:
Customer Service, checking groceries, handling of cash, bagging groceries. Experience is not necessary and training is provided.

GENERAL CLERK (Grocery/Produce):
Customer Service, stocking shelves, displaying merchandise, rotating product, loading and unloading of product for the sales floor, sanitation, etc. Experience is not necessary and training is provided. Extensive heavy lifting may be required.

BAKERY SALES CLERK:
Customer Service, bakery counter sales, stocking bakery product onto the sales counters, slicing bread, packaging product, cleaning relating to bakery counters, price changes, etc. Experience is not necessary and training is provided.

CAKE DECORATOR:
Customer Service, daily production of baked goods, icing, finishing, and decorating fancy specialty bakery product. Experience is an asset but not required. Basic training may be provided.

APPRENTICE BAKER:
Customer Service, use of mixer, commercial oven and donut fryer. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment. Safeway specific training will be provided. Extensive heavy lifting may be required. Must be registered in the Alberta Bakery Apprenticeship Program.

FLORAL CLERK:
Customer Service, operation of cash register, maintenance of inventory of fresh and potted product, receiving, stocking, and merchandising of product, etc. Training is provided. Knowledge of plant care and floral design an asset.

VARIETY CLERK:
Customer Service, ordering and stocking merchandise, completion of associated paper work, light cleaning related to the shelving in the variety area, etc.

MEAT CUTTER:
Customer Service, use of commercial power equipment, order writing, receiving and rotating product, filling showcases, etc. Knowledgeable of various cuts of meat an asset. Safeway specific training will be provided.

MEAT WRAPPER:
Customer Service, use of hand wrapper, and scale, pricing meats, order writing, filling counter and showcases, cleaning and sanitizing, etc.

DELI CLERK:
Customer Service, use of commercial meat slicer, BBQ oven and hand-wrapper, pricing and weighing product, filling showcases, sanitizing deli area, etc.

GAS BAR ATTENDENT:
Customer Service, operating cash register, stocking shelves, light cleaning, gas pump maintenance etc.

STARBUCK BARISTAS:
Customer Service, prepare hot and cold beverages, preparing the work area, stocking and ordering product and supplies, light cleaning and operating cash register.
