The Best Western Hospitality Inn (The HI) is a CAA/AAA 3 Diamond, full-service hotel in the hub of south Calgary's entertainment, shopping and business districts. With 260 guest rooms and suites, we feature meeting and conference facilities, 3 lounges, 2 restaurants, a fitness centre, courtyard pool, whirlpool, plus south Calgary's larger indoor hotel waterslide.

The H.I. is home to one of Calgary's most dynamic and innovative groups of employees. We have a heavy focus on training and development and a belief that all employees possess talents- it is our management teams' responsibility to help employees identify their talents and then add skills and knowledge to these talents to grow them into strengths.

We employ approximately 200 staff members depending on the season.

Yes, we hire both full time and part time positions.

What is your hiring process?

• All positions are posted internally first. If we do not find a candidate within our organization we recruit from outside.
• Positions are listed on our website and are quite often listed on www.hcareers.ca and advertised in the newspaper.
• Resumes can be e-mailed, faxed, or dropped off.
• Application forms can be completed by dropping by our front desk. Candidates meeting the position requirements will be invited to attend an interview with the department manager.
• If the interview goes well, the candidate will be asked to supply a minimum of two references before being offered a position.

Do I need a resume to apply to your company, or can I apply online?

What do you look for in employees?

We look for people with a warm, magnetic personality that our customers will enjoy!

What type of schooling do I need?

The amount of required education depends on the position. Some positions require minimal formal education, we focus on what you bring to the table that we can't teach you. For example, we believe that people who are exceptional at customer service are born with outgoing, friendly personalities - this is something you just have, not something you learn in school.

Do I have to be 18 to work for your company?

No, you do not have to be 18 years old to work for Best Western Hospitality Inn. Any positions involved in serving alcohol, however, do require you to be 18.

How much will I get paid?

Wage varies depending on the position you are in. We have salary ranges for every position to allow us to pay for performance.
