7-Eleven, Inc., founded in 1927 in Dallas, Texas, is the worlds largest operator, franchisor and licensor of convenience stores with more than 26,000 units worldwide, including 5,800 in the United States and Canada serving 6 million customers a day.

Beginning in 1927, the company's first convenience outlets were known as Tote'm stores since customers "toted" away their purchases. In 1946, Tote'm became 7-Eleven to reflect the stores' new, extended hours - 7AM until 11PM, seven days a week. The company's corporate name was officially changed from The Southland Corporation to 7-Eleven, Inc. in 1999.

Today, 7-Eleven is the undisputed leader in convenience retailing with more than 26,000 stores operating in the U.S. and 17 other countries and total sales of more than $36 billion in 2003.

Each store focuses on meeting the needs of busy shoppers by providing a broad selection of fresh, high-quality products and services at everyday fair prices, along with speedy transactions and a clean, safe, friendly shopping environment.

We employ about 1000 employees in Calgary and the surrounding area. Within North America we have 8000 employees representing 7-eleven.

What type of schooling do I need?

Some high school plus 3-6 months related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

How much will I get paid?

Our employees make between $7.00-$8.00/hr to start.

What kind of skills do I need?

We look for individuals with a positive attitude, good communication skills, trustworthy and able to work a variety of shifts.
