The City of Calgary Youth Employment Centre has committed to working alongside United Way Calgary and Area in offering Career Talks and Career Tours in conjunction with All in For Youth high schools in Calgary.
Career Talks is a series of interactive information sessions where high school students and school staff will meet and learn from professionals about various careers, including the trades. Guest speakers commit to a 30 minute informal presentation to a group of youth at one or more of our All in for Youth partner schools within Calgary. The Career Talk would be providing a portrait of a typical work day, with insights into their profession and the path they took to get there.
Career Tours are company or site visits for students so they can get a feel of the workplace and learn more about career opportunities within a specific industry/company.
All in For Youth is a three-pronged approach to keep youth in school, bring youth back to school, and to introduce high schools to a broad range of careers.
