BDC provides small and medium-sized businesses with flexible financing, affordable consulting services and venture capital. BDC supports the needs of entrepreneurs at every stage of growth.

Co-Vision: Start-up financing program - Customized term financing up to $150,000 for new businesses demonstrating long-term viability. If requested, BDC can also provide personalized management support. Co-Vision cannot be used for starting a retail business.

The CYBF is a non-profit, private-sector initiative designed to provide mentoring, business support and startup loans. Applicants must submit a business plan to CYBF. Programs are for Canadian entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-29 who are creating new businesses.


Community Futures Development Corporation

CFDC loans assist entrepreneurs who may have had trouble accessing capital from traditional lenders. CFDCs can lend a maximum of $75,000 to new or existing businesses. CFDCs each offer specific loan programs that target their communities needs, including youth entrepreneurship.

This project is aimed at providing unemployed and out-of-school youth with marketable job and life skills through community service. Projects run up to nine months and recruit youth between 18 and 24 years old. Along with a weekly stipend, successful participants are eligible to receive a $1,000 completion grant to be used to get a job, go back to school, pay off a student loan, or start a business.
